I started spinning records back in 2001. I play dark tribal funky house. I started hanging around a group of friends that were Djs - Matty and Projekt 23 were with a crew called liquidmediamusic.com This crew were the ones playing house in the valley. I then moved in with a friend that had turntables and crates of records, he gave me free range to play. It was all the old greyhound records, bedrock records, just awesome dark house. I was hooked! We lived together for 8 months or so, when I moved out, I had to buy myself a pair of Technics and a Pioneer500. A few months before this time I met Rob Kwik and Matteo. They played mostly Breaks/Electro and I played house, so I started playing for Liquidmediamusic for a while. I later started to collaborate with RobKwik and Matteo at the Lucky Dragon(mid2001), hosting BBoy Battles and Hip Hop Shows. I soon then became a Dirt Assasin.(2002) I was the bartender and manager at the Lucky dragon for about 4 years. We then opened the Buddha Lounge hosting events and afterhours.(4:00am to 10am) We rented out our venue to promoters during the week. We originally opened The Buddha Lounge as an art gallery and put together music events on the weekends. During this time we were also producing small outdoor events together. Our crew began to grow, we had 13 DJs. Over the years many members have moved to other cities in the US & a few went to Europe leaving only 5 DJs in Arizona. Rob, Matteo, and I, were the only active members left in Phoenix. We decided to purchase our own Sound System and lighting equipment to start a new branch -Dirt Assasinz Sound. We would now be able to put together events and provide all the necessary gear ourselves. We also started a clothing company, we set up different booths at shows and parties. We have also collaborated with many Promoters providing Sound & Lighting for their events. Now, we are slowly building our crew back up. We have 7 active members in Phoenix, playing at different clubs, bars & events throughout the State. We have also throwing a few parties including Masquer Aid a benefit party for the american brest cancer foundation. We always try to donated to some kind of benefit foundation! In the meanwile I have also started playing breaks everyonce in a while because of these guys. I have to say that i'm glad to be a Dirt Assasin!
